McIntosh Trail Early Childhood Development Council, Inc., (MTECDC) is a nonprofit organization serving children and families across seven counties in North Central Georgia: Butts, Henry, Lamar, Upson, Newton, Pike, and Spalding.
Founded in 1981, under the direction of Cynthia " Cindy" Jones, McIntosh Trail ECDC was formed when local citizens came together to create an organization eligible for federal funding after the previous Head Start (Upper Ocmulgee) operation closed in 1980.

Classrooms are designed to prepare children for kindergarten while honoring each child's culture, strengths, and individual learning needs.
